Natural gas offer from Lithuania last year was cheaper than from Latvijas Gaze

Print versionNatural gas offer from Lithuania in most of the periods last year was cheaper than the offer of Latvijas Gaze natural gas utility, said Latvenergo power company's board member Maris Kunickis in a forum on energy supplies on Thursday writes LETA.

He reminded that last year Latvenergo turned to Latvijas Gaze three times, requesting for a permission for the third party access to natural gas infrastructure so that it could purchase natural gas from Lithuania, but did not receive the necessary permission.
Kunickis said that the agreement with Lithuania has thus not been concluded, "the veil of confidentiality has been removed", and he may reveal that Lithuania's offer, including all related costs, in most of the periods had been cheaper than the offer of Latvijas Gaze.
