Fortum group companies top list of recipients of renewable energy subsidy in 2016

ompanies of Fortum group were the biggest recipients of renewable energy support and high-efficiency cogeneration support in Estonia in 2016, receiving altogether 17.6 mln euros, informs LETA/BNS.

The two Fortum group companies, Anne Soojus and Fortum Eesti, received 8.6 mln euros and 9 mln euros, respectively.


The state owned Eesti Energia received 14.6 mln euros under the two items in 2016, of which 11.1 mln euros went to Eesti Energia and 3.56 mln to Eesti Energia Aulepa Tuuleelektrijaam, operator of the Aulepa wind farm.


Wind farms of Nelja Energia received 12.6 mln euros in subsidies combined.


Tallinna Elektrijaam was next with 8.2 mln euros.


The companies of Graanul Invest group, Helme Energia and Imavere Energia, were paid 3.4 mln euros.


In total, the transmission system operator Elering paid out 4.4 mln euros in high-efficiency cogeneration support and 62.6 mln euros in renewable energy support last year.
