ithuania's electricity and natural gas distribution company Energijos Skirstymo Operatorius (Energy Distribution Operator, or ESO ) operated by Lietuvos Energija (Lithuanian Energy) last year reduced the time of installation of electricity and natural gas for residents and businesses by about a fourth, writes LETA/BNS.

In 2016, the average electricity installation period was made shorter by 20 calendar days from 78 to 58 days, while that of natural gas was trimmed by 54 calendar days from 216 to 162 days, said ESO.

Faster connection to the power grid should improve Lithuania's standing on the World Bank's rating of Doing Business. In the 2016 rating, Lithuania scored the lowest points for the speed of connection to power grids, ranking 55th among 190 countries.
