Lithuania's electricity market prices stay stable
Lithuania last week imported 81% of its electricity. Some 42%
of its electricity imports came from Latvia, Estonia and Finland, 13% from
Poland and the rest from third countries, the power transmission system
operator said.
Electricity production from renewable sources in the Baltic
countries declined last week compared with a week earlier, with the region's
hydro power output down by 21% and wind power generation down by 29%.
Some 45% of the cross-border interconnection capacity between
Lithuania and Latvia, and 41% of that between Lithuania and Belarus was used
for importing electricity to Lithuania on Nov. 28 through Dec. 4 on average.
Three percent of the capacity of the Lithuania-Poland
interconnection was used for the flow of electricity to Poland and 86% for the
flow to Lithuania.
The utilization of the capacity of the NordBalt power
interconnection between Sweden to Lithuania amounted to 15% in both directions.
