Fortum tops list of recipients of renewable energy subsidy in Estonia in August

The Fortum group companies Anne Soojus AS and Fortum Eesti AS received altogether 1.7 mln euros of renewable energy support in August, more than any other generating party in Estonia, figures published by the transmission system operator Elering show, reports LETA/BNS.

Elering disbursed a total of 5.1 mln euros in renewable energy subsidies and 167,268 euros in support for high efficiency cogeneration last month. In the first eight months of the year renewable energy subsidies totaled 37.9 mln euros and the high efficiency cogeneration subsidy 2.9 mln euros.


Of the Fortum group companies, Anne Soojus AS and Fortum Eesti AS received respectively 898,240 and 769,932 euros in August, and since the start of the year the two companies have received 11.1 mln euros combined.


Wind farms of Nelja Energia received 1.1 mln euros in subsidies in August and 7.9 mln euros in the first eight months of the year.


Companies of the Eesti Energia group, Eesti Energia AS and Eesti Energia Aulepa Tuuleelektrijaam, were paid 784,892 euros in August and 8.3 mln euros in eight months.

Tallinna Elektrijaam OU received 770,726 euros in August and 5.1 mln euros in the period from January to August.
