Elektrilevi invested EUR 39.4 mln in H1

The Estonian state-owned electricity distribution network operator Elektrilevi invested 39.4 mln euros during the first six months of 2016, and for the invested money 1,072 kilometers of weatherproof power lines and 117 new substations were built, as well as 76,949 remote read power meters installed, Elektrilevi representatives told BC.

 Almost half of the invested amount, or 18.4 mln euros, was spent to reconstruct the power network and ensure security of operations, 12.2 mln euros to install remote read meters and 8.8 mln euros to build connection points and carry out customer orders, Elektrilevi said.

 

During the six months the total length of the bare wire overhead network of Elektrilevi was reduced by 1,141 kilometers and at the end of the period 75% of the company's low voltage network and 27% of medium voltage network was weatherproof.
