Natural gas tariffs for industrial consumers up 2.6-4% in Latvia

BC, Riga, 11.07.2016.Print version
In July 2016, Latvian natural gas utility Latvijas Gaze has raised gas tariffs for industrial consumers by 2.6-4 % from June, still the tariffs will be by 25 % lower than a year ago, Latvijas Gaze reported, cites LETA.

The tariffs have been gradually lowered since December 2014, with the total reduction now reaching 40% on average.

The gas tariffs have been raised as the oil price, to which the prices of oil products are tied, is rising. The market trends suggest that in August the tariffs are expected to grow 2.6-3.8%.

In July 2016, Latvijas Gaze is selling natural gas to its industrial consumers for EUR 149.4 per 1,000 cubic meters.

Natural gas tariffs for industrial customers change on a monthly basis, while tariffs for households are revised twice a year - on January 1and July 1.

Latvijas Gaze is a company involved in the purchase, transportation and storage of natural gas.
