Gas prices for Lithuanian households to remain unchanged in 2016

BC, Vilnius, 30.11.2015.Print version
Natural gas prices for Lithuanian households and other small consumers will not change in January 2016, informs LETA/BNS.

The National Commission for Energy Control and Prices on Monday approved natural gas prices for the first half of 2016, leaving the current tariffs unchanged.

The variable price component for households using natural gas for cooking remains unchanged at 0.66 euros per cubic meters. Households using natural gas for heating will continue to pay 0.42 euros per cubic meters and those using more than 20,000 cubic meters per year will continue to pay 0.41 euros.

The fixed price component will not change either.

Gas tariffs are reviewed on a semi-annual basis.

The regulator decided last May that a 20% discount that was applied to gas prices for households in mid-2014 following Gazprom's decision to cut the price of gas for gas supplies in Lithuania in 2013 through 2015 would remain in place until July 2017.

Lietuvos Duju Tiekimas (Lithuanian Gas Supply) has more than 560,000 natural gas consumers, mostly households.
