The Estonian Central Criminal Police which investigated the transaction between the state-owned energy company Eesti Energia and AS Werol Tehased regarding the sale of a combined heat and power (CHP) plant situated near the bankrupt Werol did not find evidence of fraud and the South district prosecutor's office closed the proceeding, informs LETA.

In September, a journalist at the daily Postimees submitted information and documents to the prosecutor's office concerning the CHP plant transaction between Eesti Energia and Werol Tehased, referring to a possible fraud.

To check the claims the South district prosecutor's office opened an investigation.

In the course of the investigation no evidence of fraud was found and the proceeding was closed.
