Lithuania's Environmental Protection Agency gives green light for CHP plant in Vilnius

Lithuania's Environmental Protection Agency has evaluated the environmental impact assessment report of the planned combined heat and power (CHP) plant in Vilnius and gave a go-ahead to continue developing the project, informs LETA/ELTA.

The planned CHP plant will consist of 18 MW electrical capacity and 53 MW heat capacity waste-fired boiler and 70 MW electrical capacity and 174 MW heat capacity biofuel-fired boiler.

 

Initial proposals of contractors and documents proving qualifications are currently being evaluated. Contractors who meet qualification requirements will receive technical specifications on which they will base their final proposals.

 

The tender is scheduled to be completed and the contractor announced in January 2016.
