Latvian Energy Efficiency Association (LATEA) and the Representative Office of European Commision in Latvia has agreed for joint activities to promote the awareness of EU Energy Union in the Baltics. LATEA has received a support from European Commission to develop and present its concept for Baltic Energy Alliance.

The concept of Baltic Energy Alliance was created by LATEA – one of the leading organizations in its branch, in order to become a center for excellency in energy and act as a sound support tool for EU Energy Union in the Baltics.

The chairman of LATEA, Mr. Raimonds Keirans mentions that such a center is vitally important to assist the EU to promote and clarify its energy strategies as well as to discuss the energy policy among the Baltic states. Also its vital to provide the society with clear and consistent information regarding energy issues and, especially, issues aroung electricity and gas market liberalization.

LATEA really appreciates the support of EC Representative office in Latvia, ensuring the growth of European Energy Union as well as the vital need to join efforts by introducing the balanced and sustainable regional energy strategy in the Baltics.
