Estonians want to use Klaipeda's future LNG distribution station

BC, Vilnius, 15.04.2015.Print version
Estonian company JetGas has expressed its wish to use Lithuania's future liquefied natural gas (LNG) distribution station, which will be constructed in Klaipeda, reported LETA/ELTA.

The Lithuanian company Klaipedos Nafta reports that it has signed a preliminary agreement with Estonia's only LNG supplier JetGas on the station capacities reservation. JetGas expects to start using the Klaipeda station once the construction is completed and operations begin, i.e. in early 2017.

"This contract is yet another example that Estonia's businesses are taking rational and purposeful steps in order to take advantage of the existing LNG infrastructure in the region, they also see potential for expanding the range of small-scale activities related to LNG. Other neighbouring countries have also started making similar steps: we are planning to sign several more preliminary contracts in the near future," said Mantas Bartuska, director general of Klaipedos Nafta.
