Lithuanian student wins gold medal at International Olympiad on astronomy, astrophysics

Print versionLithuanian student Motiejus Valiunas won the gold medal at the International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics which took place on August 4-14 in Vassouras, Brazil.

The competition was hosted by the Rio de Janeiro National Observatory, the Valongo Observatory of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, the National Astrophysical Laboratory in Itajuba and the National Institute of Cosmic Research in Sao Jose dos Campos, PragueMonitor/LETA reports.
A total of 126 contestants from America, Asia and Europe competed in the Olympiad.
