Lithuanian education minister expects similar GDP allocation for 2011

Print versionEducation Minister of Lithuania Gintaras Steponavicius says that the allocation of gross domestic product (GDP) for education in 2011 should not differ from the on this year.

"In the recent year, education has remained a priority even in the face of cutbacks, and a GDP allocation exceeds 6%. It is a very high indicator and our task is to use these funds as effectively as possible. The threshold of the developed countries is 6%, we are near 7% and we will retain a similar amount," said Steponavicius LETA/ELTA.
