22,000 people take high-school graduation exams in Estonia in 2010

Print version21,899 people, among whom 18,376 high school pupils, have registered to take the state-level graduation exams in Estonia in 2010, LETA/Postimees Online reports.

The exams are a necessary step for enrolling into universities. In order to get a high-school graduation diploma, pupils need to pass three state level graduation exams. The exams can be taken also by students of vocations schools and other schools.
The largest number of people registered to take the Estonian language state exam (essay) which is an obligatory exam for high-school graduates in Estonian language schools.
English language with 8,619 registrees, geography with 7,006m, social sciences with 6,183 and mathematics with 4,812 followed in the popularity list.
