Latvian schools to have 22,300 first-graders in 2015

Print versionApproximately 22,300 first-graders in Latvia will go to school for the first time on September 1, 2015, reports LETA, according to the Education and Science Ministry's estimates.

The total number of first-graders this year is slightly lower than last year – 22,775.
In total, 202,000 children will attend school in the new school year, which is approximately 2,000 schoolchildren more than last year.
The actual number of schoolchildren will be calculated in September.
This year, there are 755 municipal primary and high schools in total, as well as sixty private schools.
