One of examples of such investment is direct attention of the US to Lithuania.

Though Joseph Biden's visit is the first visit of US Vice President to our country since 2006, in recent years Lithuania has received more than one high-rank US officials. Last year US Secretary of State John Kerry visited Lithuania, while a year ago, in 2011, his predecessor Hillary Clinton participated in the OSCE meeting held in Vilnius.

"This intensity shows that the United States invest in us as in a certain example of success story. We are regarded by Washington as the best example of transformation and a symbol of the world that was created after the Cold War. Since we are the symbol, which actively contributes to the creation of the world, therefore, investment is made in us," said Ambassador Pavilionis in an interview with the national television.

The ambassador noted that Washington recognized Lithuania's Presidency of the EU Council not only due to Eastern Partnership, but also due to negotiations over transatlantic trade deal as well as due to renewal of EU enlargement.
