"Azerbaijan is an important and serious partner for the European Union who understands our problems in guaranteeing the energy security. We value the clear readiness of Azerbaijan to offer real alternative sources for the European energy supply," Ergma said.
Alijev confirmed that developing the so-called Southern corridor is a foreign political priority of the state and in international cooperation the clear principle is followed: energy politics has to be free of any kind of blackmail.
Ergma also had meetings with Azerbaijani parliament chairman Ogtai Asadov, prime minister Artur Rasizadeh and foreign minister Elmar Mammadiarov, discussing IT cooperation, economic cooperation and cultural ties.
