Representatives of eight European countries adopted a joint resolution on August 23rd, the anniversary of conclusion of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, in order to create an international establishment for investigating crimes of Communism, writes LETA/National Broadcasting.

Representatives of ministries of justice of Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Georgia were the ones signing said resolution.

“Millions lost their lives or had to suffer greatly as a result of crimes of Communism and Nazism. So did the Estonian people. If the Communist occupation would have continued for another generation in Estonia, it would have irrevocably affected the demise of Estonians as a nation,” said the Minister of Justice Urmas Reinsalu.
