EU sees no grounds for changing sanctions against Russia

BC, Riga, 29.10.2014.Print version
European Union (EU) sanctions against Russia are to remain in place, the bloc's ambassadors have decided at talks in Brussels on Tuesday, informs LETA/DPA.

The ambassadors agree that "there are currently no grounds for changing the EU restrictive measures against Russia," an EU source says on condition of anonymity. The issue was also discussed by EU leaders and foreign ministers last week.

The EU will continue to monitor developments in eastern Ukraine, notably the implementation of the ceasefire plan agreed in Minsk last month, the source adds.
