Both heads of government found that the intelligence operation carried out in Swedish waters gives cause for concern. Swedish Prime Minister emphasised the importance of good relations between neighbours in defence issues.

“Estonia and Sweden having the same position in the matter of the Ukrainian crisis demonstrates that the two countries have great allied relations in the Baltic Sea region,” said Rõivas, adding that Estonia also places great importance on co-operation between Estonia and Sweden in the field of cyber defence.

Both Estonia and Sweden hope that the coming European Council meeting will reach an agreement on the 2030 climate framework.
