The Free Port of Riga participates in the Development of Regulation of the European Parliament

From July 1, 2014, Italy takes over the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, and will hold it until December 31, 2014. In the framework of its presidency Italy intends to work actively in the EU Council Shipping working group with the aim to reach agreement on “Proposal for a REGULATION OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL establishing a framework on market access to port services and financial transparency of ports” (COM(2013)296), Informs BC press division of port.

In order to discuss current issues in respect of the draft Regulation, the FPRA representatives will participate in a workshop organized on July 16 by the Ministry of Transport, providing the opportunity to meet the European Commission and Latvian main ports’ representatives.


The FPRA has invited the workshop participants for a boat trip around the Freeport of Riga water area with the aim to present the implemented and planned port infrastructure and logistics development projects.
