Czech Republic will do the best to support Lithuania's presidency of EU Council

Print versionPrime Minister of the Czech Republic Petr Necas on Thursday met with Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevicius and promised full support for Lithuania's presidency of the European Union Council, informs LETA/ELTA.

"Lithuania and the Czech Republic are very close partners in the EU and NATO. We will really strive to support Lithuania's Presidency of the EU Council fully," said Necas after a meeting at a press conference.
Butkevcius says that in a meeting the politicians discussed bilateral economic cooperation and ways to strengthen it and reviewed the energy sector in both countries and the Eastern Partnership.
"We hope that after Lithuanian-Czech Business Forum additional contacts will be established which will turn into contracts," said the PM.
