BC, Vilnius, 29.05.2018.Print version
Lithuania is among the EU's leaders in terms of the estimated time needed to resolve civil and commercial cases at first-instance courts and ranks first by the length of proceedings in administrative cases at first-instance courts, according to the 2018 EU Justice Scoreboard published by the European Commission on May 28th, cites LETA/BNS.

Lithuania is also among the leaders in terms of the availability of electronic means to submit and follow a claim online.

It ranks fourth after Hungary, Germany and Denmark by the use of alternative dispute resolution methods.

Although public expenditure on courts in Lithuania increased, it remained below the EU average. The country is at number eight in the EU by the number of judges per 100,000 inhabitants.

More than half of Lithuanian companies perceive the independence of courts and judges as fairly good.
