BC, Riga, 07.06.2017.Print version
Riga City Council lawmaker Valdis Gavars (Unity) has asked the Central Election Commission to annul local election results in 38 polling stations in Riga, the commission’s spokeswoman Kristine Berzina reported LETA.

Gavars has complained that voice counting in the 38 polling stations has been doubtful. "Also, the fact that in many polling stations in Riga the number of invalid voting tickets was high, even to 20-30 percent, raises suspicions about possible violations," said Gavars in his application.

The Central Election Commission so far has received two complaints about the election results.

The other complaint was filed by a representative of local party Viesatam. But representative in Jaunpils, saying that another member of the same candidates list has affected voters’ ballots.

The Central Election Commission will revise both complaints on Friday, June 9.
