42.8% of voters in Riga ready to vote for Harmony party

42.8% of respondents in Riga are ready to vote for the current ruling coalition of the Riga City Council – the Harmony and Honor to Serve Riga parties, Latvian commercial LNT channel reported, LETA citing the latest Latvijas Fakti poll.

The poll suggest that three more parties would win seats at the Riga City Council – 8.1% respondents would vote for the list of the Latvian Alliance of Regions and For Latvia's Development with Martins Bondars as the mayor’s candidate, 5.9% would vote for the Union of Greens and Farmers with Armands Krauze as the mayor, and 5.8% would vote for the National Alliance with Baiba Broka as the candidate for the Riga mayor.


The poll conducted by Latvijas Fakti should that the Unity would get just 3.1% of votes, KPV.LV party would get just 1.4%, and the New Conservative Party would get also just 1.4%.

The situation might change as there is a large number of people who have not yet decided on their vote – 23.3%.


The poll also shows that the number of supporters of incumbent Riga Mayor Nils Usakovs has dropped from 48.8% in March to 42.8% in May, while Bondars has managed to increase the number of supporters from 2.9% in March to 8.1% in May. The number of supporters of Greens/Farmers has dropped from 7.5% in March to 5.9 %, while the number of National Alliance’s supporters has not changed.
