On Tuesday, January 17, Sweden’s Minister for Employment and Integration, Ms. Ylva Johansson, will make a visit to Latvia, the Swedish embassy informs BC.

During the visit, the Minister will meet with her Latvian counterparts: the Minister for Welfare, Janis Reirs, and the Minister for Economics, Arvils Aseradens. In addition, Ms. Johansson will also take part as a speaker in a lunch event organised by the Swedish Chamber of Commerce.

Ylva Johansson is one of the most experienced politicians currently serving in Government in Sweden. She has served as a minister under three prime ministers since the early 1990’s. In 2014 she was appointed as Minister for Employment – a prominent role in the Government, since labour market issues is an important part of the Swedish welfare state. In addition, her portfolio was broadened in 2016 to also cover integration issues.
