Mogherini in Tallinn: EU cannot take concrete steps to get Kohver released

Print versionEU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security policy Federica Mogherini visited Estonia on Monday, and during her visit, she stated that the only role the EU can take to achieve Eston Kohver's release from Russia is a supporting one, writes LETA/Postimees Online.

“As you very well know, naturally the European Union cannot take any concrete steps to get him (Eston Kohver – ed.) back. Probably no one expects it, either,” said Mogherini at the press conference on Monday.
She added that together with the Minister of Foreign Affairs Marina Kaljurand she was discussing options what the EU could do to support Estonian authorities, and for achieving that Eston Kohver be returned home.
Mogherini emphasised that the European Union Member States feel solidarity, and support each other during difficult times.
