Over 800 foreign journalists covered EU Presidency events in Latvia

According to information from the Latvian Presidency's Secretariat, over 800 journalists from over 40 countries visited Latvia to cover the country's EU Presidency events, informs LETA.

Overall, journalists visited Latvia a total of 1,900 times to cover various Presidency events.

 

The head of the Latvian Presidency's communications team Linda Jakobsone said that overall 25,300 persons participated in the various Presidency events.

 

As reported, today is the last day of Latvia's Presidency of the Council of the European Union (EU). Latvia will hand the Presidency over to Luxembourg at the beginning of July.

 

Latvia held the EU presidency for the first time, during which it focused on three main priorities – increasing competitiveness of the EU, enhancing the EU's global role, and applying the potential of the Digital Single Market to EU's development.
