Latvia encourages Serbia to continue the Euro-integration reforms

On Tuesday, December 16, in Belgrade, during the meeting with Prime Minister of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić, Prime Minister Laimdota Straujuma stressed that Latvia appreciates Serbia's commitment and the accomplishments regarding the EU integration reforms, and encourages continuing the reforms, reported BC press secretary to the Prime Minister Aiva Rozenberga.

L.Straujuma confirmed that Latvia supports integration of the Western Balkans in the European Union, based on each country's individual performance. “Latvia is ready to share its experience to help you," said L.Straujuma. A. Vučić broadly informed about the current economic situation in Serbia, about various reforms and the legislative process with a focus on membership in the European Union. "Our path to the EU is steadfast," said A. Vučić.

 

During the discussion with A.Vučić, L.Straujuma appreciated the third meeting of the Prime Ministers of 16 Central and Eastern European Countries and China hosted by Serbia which is held in Belgrade.

 

The Prime Minister presented the priorities of Latvia's Presidency of the Council of the European Union, noting that competitive Europe, a single digital market and active role of the EU in the world are the key priorities for entire Europe.
