"Pussy Riot" support rally to be held in front of Russian Embassy in Riga
Today, a rally in support of the Russian punk rock band "Pussy Riot" will take place in front of the Russian Embassy in Riga.
The protest will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., when a Moscow court will hand down its verdict.
Protest organizer Armands Leimanis told LETA that the campaign is aimed at emphasizing that Moscow's legal proceedings against "Pussy Riot" members have so far been politicized and unfair.
As reported, three "Pussy Riot" members - Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, Maria Alyokhina and Yekaterina Samutsevich - are accused of inciting religious hatred by performing their anti-Putin song in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow.
If found guilty, the girls could face three years in prison.
