Contemporary Art Fair ARTVILNIUS opens on June 27
The International Contemporary Art Fair ARTVILNIUS '12 will be held from June 27-July 1 in the Lithuanian Exhibition and Convention Center LITEXPO in Vilnius, writes LETA/ELTA.
This year, the fair will feature 53 art galleries from 12 countries – from the US to India, with over a thousand works of art, Vilnius Municipality said.
ARTVILNIUS '12 will present a grand art collection from India, interesting works from Lithuania and other parts of the world, as well as a collection of sculptures and videos from the RUNWAY exhibition, as well as other filming material. Visitors will be able to participate in meetings and discussions with art critics, curators, artists, and many other events.
This year the fair will be held in four rooms, and will feature large format sculptures, designed specifically for the outdoor area found in LITEXPO.
Other participating countries include Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Portugal, the United Kingdom and the Ukraine. Among the participating galleries are, Berlin Avantgarde and Galerie Nivet-Carzon from Paris, which feature international artists and have recognized status in their home countries and abroad.
