The Saeima European Affairs Committee supports Lithuania's position in talks between the European Union (EU) and Russia on issues such as energy, cooperation between judicial and interior structures, the return process of deported persons, as well as the solution to the conflicts in Georgia and Moldova.

LETA was informed by the Saeima's press service that the committee's deputies positively assesses the May 11 agreement made in Vilnius between Lithuania and the EU's presidency, thus ensuring the beginning of talks on a new partnership agreement with Russia.

The committee invites the Foreign Ministry to assess the possibility to support Lithuania's proposals.
