Estonian and French culture ministers signed Thursday evening a cooperation agreement on organising the Estonian Festival in Paris in the autumn of 2011, LETA/National Broadcasting reports.

The festival that will last for nearly four weeks will introduce different spheres of Estonian culture in Paris, but the focus is on music.

Estonian Culture Minister Laine Jänes said that Estonia will invest 4.2 mln kroons in the festival, nearly 800,000 of it on marketing and advertising.

“France has a big wish to learn to know the Estonian culture better and we have cooperation perspectives before us that are very fruitful and interesting,” said French culture minister Frédéric Mitterrand.
