Latvia to participate in shooting Asian blockbuste

This autumn preparations will begin in Latvia for the shooting of several scenes for a new Asian blockbuster "My Way", which will be produced by South Korean company The Directors in Latvia, China and Korea, LETA was informed by Latvian company Film Angels Studio representative Baiba Grapena.

 

The film "My Way" tells about a South Korean soldier, who serves in the Japanese, the German and the Russian army during the World War II and is captured in Normandy by American troops.

 

In early 2011, Riga will turn into Berlin of the year 1944, the "Cinevilla" village will become a Russian village, and Kurzeme Province (western Latvia) seashore will become Normandy.

 

This November several participants in crowd scenes and stuntmen from Latvia will visit Korea, Grapena said.

 

This is the largest project in this genre ever shot in Latvia. Tomorrow, September 7, a special press conference will be held at the Riga Film Museum, with the participation of the film's chief producer, executive producer and National Film Center Director Ilze Gailite-Holmberga.

 

As LETA reported, in the spring of 2010, in conjunction with "Film Angels Studio", several scenes for a Japanese film were shot in Latvia, now material is being produced for an Indian film.
