President Dalia Grybauskaite has appointed Ricardas Piliciauskas as chairman of the Supreme Administrative Court of Lithuania (LVAT). Four candidates applied for the position of the LVAT chairman. A commission for the selection of judges evaluated 41-year-old Piliciauskas' candidature most favourably, informs LETA/ELTA.

Piliciauskas started working at the LVAT ten years ago, as a judge at first. Later on, he was appointed as deputy chairman of the LVAT. Since November 2008, Piliciauskas has acted as LVAT chairman.
