In a Federation Cup duel to retain a spot in Europe/Africa Zone Group One on Sunday, the Latvian women's tennis team was victorious over Bosnia and Herzegovina 3:0, informs LETA.

In the first singles match of the day, Latvia's Irina Kuzmina won a tough battle over Emma Burgic 5-7, 6-3, 7-6 (7:5), but the second game saw Diana Marcinkevica beating Sandra Martinovic 7-5, 6-1. Victory day was capped by Marcinkevica and Liga Dekmeijere whipping Burgic-Martinovic 6-4, 2-6, 6-0 in doubles.

Latvia's top ranked female tennis player Anastasija Sevastova was unable to help the team due to a shoulder injury.

In Cup action previously, the Latvians had bowed to Hungary, Sweden and Denmark.
