Around a hundred Estonian sports fans will go to the Vancouver Winter Olympics to cheer our athletes, LETA/National Broadcasting reported.

These are people who have arranged their trip via the officials ticket sales agent of the Olympic Games Estravel. In addition to them, official Olympic delegation members and local Canadian Estonians will cheer Estonian athletes.

Estravel’s marketing and communications manager Mari-Liis Rüütsalu said that the number of Olympics guests was reduced by the distance of the destination and the ticket price that is higher than average due to that. She said that the average price of the Vancouver Olympics travel package consisting of a plane ticket and accommodation was around 40,000 kroons, plus prices of Olympic tickets and costs of living in Vancouver.

She said that many guests combine the Olympics with their own skiing holiday and visits to Canadian relatives.

The Olympic tickets that Estonians bought most actively were those for cross-country skiing events.
