The Latvian ice hockey club Riga ''Dinamo'' was defeated by the Russian ice hockey club Chelyabinsk ''Traktor'' in a Kontinental Ice Hockey League (KHL) regular season game last night in packed ''Arena Riga'' on January 17, informs LETA.

The final score was 2:3 (1:2, 0:1, 1:0).

Scoring for Riga on power plays were Marcel Hossa and Mikelis Redlihs.

Coach Shupler afterwards blamed the poor start for the loss – the team had to battle back from a 0:2 deficit in the first period.

This was the second time the two teams met this season; ''Dinamo'' lost to ''Traktor'' 5:4 in an overtime penalty shoot-out on October 12.

As reported, ''Dinamo'' was without American defender Lee Sweatt, who was cut from the roster. Meanwhile, an eagerly-awaited addition flew in Saturday, and will make his debut with the team Monday night – Martins Karsums.
