Estonians sent Christmas cards very actively
BC, Tallinn, 29.12.2009.
Print version
Print versionAccording to Estonian Post, people sent numerous Christmas cards and other forms of greeting with the help of the postal enterprise, despite the economic depression, Eesti Päevaleht/LETA writes.
Before Christmas, the number of letters and cards sent reached nearly 300,000 per day – much more than last year.
As compared to previous years, a trend could be noted that a lot of attention was paid on design of cards: there were a lot of cards of different shapes and self-made envelopes and cards, Eesti Post said. The share of addresses written by hand dominated as opposed to printed ones.
In December 2008, Estonian people sent 6.1 million cards and letters. The exact figures for this December will be declared in January.
