BC, Tallinn, 21.12.2009.Print version
The Estonian Waterways board decided that icebreaking work has to start at the Pärnu Bay as of December 19 and the multifunctional ship EVA-316 that does the icebreaking work will reach the bay tomorrow, National Broadcasting/LETA reports.
Starting December 28, all ships that enter or exit the Pärnu port and are serviced by the icebreaker must have ice class 1C according to Lloyd`s registry or a similar ice class of other classification organizations and the main engine capacity has to be at least 1,600 kW.
The icebreaker does not service ships that tow barges.
If need be, an icebreaker of the Alfons Hakans company will come to help out at the Pärnu Bay.
