Lithuanian Radio and Television CEO striving to win 85,000 litas in damages from photo correspondents
Print versionLithuanian Radio and Television (LRT) CEO Audrius Siaurusevicius is trying to win 85,000 litas (24,614 euros) in damages from two photo correspondents, who according to him, injured him on the night of the parliamentary elections, reports ELTA/LETA.
Siaurusevicius has submitted a civil lawsuit in which he asks to adjudge 80,000 litas (23,166 euros) from photographer Irmantas Sidarevicius from the daily Respublika and 5,000 litas (1,447 euros) from photographer Valdas Kopustas who at the time worked for the daily L.T. in damages.
LRT head accuses photographers of injuring him in minor way on the night of parliamentary elections on October 13 last year.
As reported, on October 13 night, in the hotel Naujasis Vilnius, where the headquarters of the Social Democratic Party were situated, photographer attempted to take a photograph of allegedly drunk LRT head who mixed doors and got into the electricity room of the hotel. According to the media, Siaurusevicius attacked the photographer, tried to take away his camera and then locked himself in the electricity room. According to the photographer, the LRT CEO hit his head, made minor injuries during the fight and broke the camera.
