Commander-in-Chief of the Estonian Defence Forces, Lieutenant General Ants Laaneots, started inspecting the Estonian unites serving in Southern Afghanistan in the Helmand province, writes Postimees Online/LETA.

In the course of his visit to Helmand, Laaneots will also meet with generals who lead military operations in Afghanistan. On Tuesday Laaneots met with Major General Mart de Kruif who gave an overview of the situation in Southern Afghanistan to the head of the Estonian Defence Forces.

Currently, Estonia’s infantry company Estcoy-7, the logistical support element NSE-6 and staff officers and staff junior officers are serving in the Kandahari and Helmand provinces in Southern Afghanistan.
