Estonia: Eesti Kontsert asks concertgoers to wear masks to concerts in fall season
Estonia's state-owned concert organizer Eesti Kontsert has
requested concertgoers to wear masks to concerts during the autumn season, LETA/BNS informed.
Eesti Kontsert, which is to kick off its autumn season with
concerts in Tallinn, Johvi and Parnu is asking all
concertgoers to wear masks indoors if possible and will hand out items of
personal protective equipment also at concert venues, spokespeople said.
"We care for our audience's health, and at the same
time we wish that Estonia's cultural life wasn't defeated by the virus. If
washing one's hands and wearing a mask are the easiest way to protect oneself
and others from getting infected, they have to be done boldly. Our goal is to
ensure the continuation of music life without a cultural interruption; with
awareness and responsible behavior all of us can contribute to it," said
the manager of Eesti Kontsert, Kertu Orro.
In addition to hand disinfecting stations, also face masks
are available at the concerts organized by Eesti Kontsert.
Eesti Kontsert is to kick off its autumn season with a stage
performance "Ringlemisi," based on music by Veljo Tormis, at
the Estonia concert hall in Tallinn on Thursday. "Ringlemisi" will be
performed at the Parnu concert hall on Friday and at Vanemuine concert hall in
Tartu on Saturday.
At the concert hall of Johvi, a new version of Arvo Part's
"La Sindone" will make its Estonian premiere on Thursday. The same
work will be performed at the Estonia concert hall on Friday.
