Riga Dinamo ice-hockey team has been put into quarantine unitl October 5, the club's council chairman Juris Savickis told LETA.

Savickis said that the club is not working on the self-isolation regulations for the players and the club staff. There will be an opportunity to stay at home or in a hotel. "The whole team and the coach have been put into quarantine," said Savickis.

Riga Dinamo had to play five games in the time period until October 5 - three at home and two abroad.

The Center for Disease Prevention and Control reportd earlier that five of the new Covid-19 cases registered on Monday are related to the Riga Dinamo hockey club. 

The center did not say whether the newly diagnosed persons were Dinamo players or personnel members. Recently, five Dinamo players and two personnel members tested positive for Covid-19, therefore at least 12 Covid-19 cases are related to Dinamo at the moment.

As reported, 34 new Covid-19 cases were registered in Latvia after 2,690 tests were carried out on Monday.
