Ostapenko has applied to compete at U.S. Open

Print versionLatvia's top-ranked lady tennis player Alona Ostapenko has applied to compete at this year's U.S. Open, writes LETA, according to the list of player released by the tournament's organizers.
This year's U.S. Open Grand Slam tennis tournament is scheduled to take place in New York from August 31 to September 13.
The organizers inform that competing in the tournament will be 13 tennis players who have triumphed in a Grand Slam tournament in the past, including Ostapenko, as well as nine of the top ten lady tennis players in the world at the moment.
At the moment, Ostapenko is ranked 41st in the WTA rankings.
