Latvian prose writer and journalist Pauls Bankovskis has passed away, lsm.lv web news portal reported today. 

According to information available at LETA Archive, Bankovskis was born in 1973 in Ligatne, graduated from Riga Art and Design Secondary School and studied philosophy at the University of Latvia.

Bankovskis' prose was first published in 1993. Hos most notable writing includes "The Book of Chronicles", "The Soviet Latvian Woman", "Cheka, Bombs and Rock 'N Roll", "Secrets", "European-style Remodeling", "Offshore", "Clothes, or Adam's Attire", "St Bokasine's Tree", "Good Will Always Prevail", "School", "18" and "The History of the World". 

Bankovskis' works have been translated into German, Czech, Finnish and English.
