Sevastova through to second round of Kremlin Cup

Print versionLatvia's top-ranked lady tennis player Anastasija Sevastova defeated Aliaksandra Sasnovich, of Belarus, 6-1, 7-5 in the first round of the Kremlin Cup in Moscow on Monday.
Sevastova is currently ranked 24th in the WTA rankings, while Sasnovich is ranked 64th.
Sevastova has earned 55 WTA ranking points for reaching the second round of the tournament.
Last year, Sevastova reached the tournament's semifinal round.
In the next round, Sevastova will play either Kristina Mladenovic (France) or Yulia Putintseva (Kazakhstan).
