 Latvian shooting forward Rihards Lomazs has signed contract with the French basketball club ASVEL Basket, which will play in ULEB EuroLeague for the next two seasons, according to Sportando journalist Emiliano Carchia information reported LETA. 

Earlier in June, Sportando reported that Lomazs was leaving Latvian basketball club Ventspils to join a ULEB EuroLeague club.

The deal will be official as soon as Pro A League Finals end, which may happen this week, writes Carchia.

ASVEL was founded in 1948, it was acquired by the famous French basketball player Tony Parker in 2014.

ASVEL has won 18 French Pro A League championships.

Lomazs, 23, was one of the leaders for Ventspils last season. He averaged 17.1 points and 2.9 assists in FIBA Champions League, close to 15 points in the Latvian-Estonian League games, and 15 points and 3.8 assists in Latvian Basketball League playoffs.
