Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu is due to make a visit to Latvia this Thursday, the press service of the Latvian Foreign Ministry informed LETA.

During his visit, Cavusoglu is scheduled to participate in a flower-laying ceremony at the Freedom Monument in Riga and have a bilateral meeting with President Raimonds Vejonis.

The Turkish minister is also scheduled to meet with Latvian Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkevics (New Unity) to discuss Latvia-Turkey relations, security policy matters, cooperation in NATO and other international organizations, as well as EU-Turkey relations. After their meeting, the two foreign ministers will give a joint news conference.

In the afternoon, the Turkish foreign minister will meet with Saeima Speaker Inara Murniece (National Alliance) and Defense Minister Artis Pabriks (For Development/For).
